Lucent Technologies' Bell Labs to Host Its First Nanotechnology Conference
|
MURRAY HILL, N.J., Jan. 31, 2005 - On Feb. 3, 2005, the New Jersey Nanotechnology Consortium (NJNC), a subsidiary of Lucent Technologies based at and run by Bell Labs, will host its first annual Nanotechnology Conference for members of the academic, business, scientific and technical community in New Jersey. The event will be held at Lucent's headquarters in Murray Hill, N.J., and is primarily for members of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, which has provided funding to the NJNC.
The agenda will include addresses from Bell Labs Research and Advanced Technologies President Jeff Jaffe and Bell Labs Vice President of Nanotechnology/ NJNC President Dave Bishop, as well as key research collaborators.
"We have two main goals for this conference," Bishop said. "The first is to provide a forum for our researchers to talk about the exciting projects we're working on with our university and industry research collaborators, and the second is to demonstrate the positive impact that state funding is having on nanotechnology in the state of New Jersey."
Bell Labs experts will be available for briefings on a variety of subjects related to our work in nanotechnology, including the applications of "nanograss", DNA motors, maskless lithography, and the world-class laboratory facilities located at Lucent's headquarters.
